Olympic sprint king Jason Gardener, who won Gold at the 2004 Games in Athens, is a confirmed speaker at this month’s Flame Congress – a national youth event taking place at Wembley Arena on Saturday, 24 March.

Gardener, part of Great Britain’s victorious 4×100 relay team in Greece, will address over 7,000 young Catholics from the Dioceses of England and Wales.

The list of confirmed speakers has been released by event organisers CYMFed, the Catholic Youth Ministry Federation.

Also speaking at Wembley arena are 28-year-old Paralympian Stef Reid, who has held the World Long Jump record since 2010, and rower Debbie Flood, a two-time Olympic silver-medalist.

Two young Kenyan athletes will also share their stories – Lorna Kusa Simbi, a 19-year-old boxer from Korogocho and Abdi Rauf Dimas, a member of the Kenyan national Karate team.
