Your Eminence,

I am writing to express my deepest condolences at the tragedy that has struck Burma in recent days. The prayers of Catholics throughout England and Wales are with you at this time.

During my visit in 2013 I was deeply moved by the courage and resolution of Burma’s people in the face of so many adversities. Please be assured of our continued solidarity and support over the undoubtedly difficult weeks ahead.

Yours sincerely,

Bishop Declan Lang
