As we enter the summer months, it seems appropriate to focus this episode of At the Foot of the Cross on rest and recuperation.

Once again, we’re joined by Abbot Hugh Allan O.Praem, our Director of Mission, who joins us to discuss the theology of rest and how his Norbertine community recharge their batteries to stay close to the Lord. As he says, it’s more Peckham than Benidorm.

Staying with the theme of rest, we talk to our Biblical Apostolate Manager, Fleur Dorrell, about the Bible and how it speaks clearly about the need for rest – right from Genesis, creation and God resting on the seventh day.

We conclude our podcast by turning our attention to this year’s Day for Life – celebrated in our parishes on Sunday, 21 June. Our senior media officer, Steph MacGillivray, interviews Archbishop John Sherrington, Lead Bishop for Life Issues for the Bishops’ Conference, to promote the day and its theme ‘The Wonder of the Child in the Womb’.
