Cardinal Vincent Nichols looks back on the second week of discussions at the Synod of Bishops meeting looking at the theme ‘Young People, Faith and Vocational Discernment’.
The Cardinal talks about the energetic debates and the infectious joy that young people have brought to the proceedings.
Discussions this week centred on exploring a deeper sense of what vocation means in our human existence – that our essential vocation is to love.
He describes the vocation as having two aspects: self-fulfilment and self-gift. Something that comes into sharper focus when examined through the lens of faith – will this lead me closer to God?
