Today we learn that Jesus and the Father are one. Thomas said to Jesus, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

Jesus knew his hour to depart the world and be with the Father had come.

Before the Feast of the Passover, during supper, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples. At that moment, the disciples did not understand this act.

Jesus said to them, “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you this example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.”

People still do not believe in Jesus, despite the many signs he has shown them, for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory that comes from God.

Today we listen to the words of the prophet Isaiah, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them”.

Today we hear about the death of Lazarus. Jesus visits his sisters Martha and Mary, and weeps.

Jesus raises Lazarus. He cries out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out.”

The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth.

Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.”

The Jews ask him once again if he is the Christ:

“My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
