Shrewsbury

The Diocese of Shrewsbury encompasses parts of the North West of England and parts of the West Midlands.

It comprises the pre-1974 counties of Shropshire and Cheshire, varying from the rural areas of Shropshire to parts of Manchester south of the River Mersey and other large urban areas including Birkenhead, Stockport and Ellesmere Port.

The Bishop of Shrewsbury is the Right Reverend Mark Davies.

You can also find out more about the Cathedral Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians and St. Peter of Alcantara. The Church was designed by Edward Pugin the son of Augustus Pugin and was completed in 1856.

Cathedral Church of Our Lady, Help of Christians and St Peter of Alcantara

Commonly known as Shrewsbury Cathedral, Our Lady Help of Christians and Saint Peter of Alcantara is found in the centre of Shrewsbury near the River Severn.
