The Diocese of Middlesbrough consists of the boroughs of Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton on Tees (south of the river), the cities of Kingston upon Hull and York, East Yorkshire and most of North Yorkshire.
On 22 December 2025, following acceptance of the resignation of the Right Rev Terence Drainey as Bishop of Middlesbrough, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV appointed Bishop Marcus Stock as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Middlesbrough, whilst retaining his current office as Bishop of Leeds.
