Father Bashar Fawadleh is the Latin Patriarch Catholic priest from Christ the Redeemer parish in Taybeh – the last entirely Christian village in the West Bank, Palestine.
He joins us on this Middle East Analysis – Special podcast alongside international lawyer, consultant and analyst Dr Harry Hagopian, and Bishop James Curry who is the Lead Bishop for the Holy Land for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. We are sharing this podcast on our Catholic News channel.
Fr Bashar discusses the struggles of every day life in the Palestinian village under an increasing threat from settlers who target the village and surrounding area, setting fires, intimidating residents – verbally and with physical violence – grazing animals on their land and destroying their olive trees.
This came into sharp focus on 17 October when news was carried globally of an attack on a party visiting Fr Bashar’s community in Taybeh in which three people were injured, a car was damaged, and the mayor of Aulnoye-Aymeries was assaulted in the latest violent attempt to prevent Palestinians from harvesting olives on their land.
Middle East Analysis was a monthly podcast that ran from 2009 to early 2026 and still broadcasts periodical ‘special’ episodes.
