On Sunday, 29 June, the Via della Conciliazione, the grand avenue leading to St. Peter’s Square, was transformed into a stunning display of floral artistry for the Historic Flower Festival, ‘Infiorata Storica’, a tradition that dates back to 1625.
This year’s edition celebrated the theme of the Jubilee of Hope. Artists and volunteers from all over Italy crafted intricate designs using dried flower petals, wood shavings, coloured sand, salt, sugar, and natural pigments.
Thousands of pilgrims filled St. Peter’s Square to mark the solemn feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
