Conscientious Objection Bill

In January the Conscientious Objection (Medical Activities) Bill sponsored by Baroness Nuala O’Loan began its passage through parliament.

The bill will protect freedom of conscience for medical professionals including doctors, midwives, nurses, and pharmacists.

This is an important and timely issue: a recent cross-party inquiry into freedom of conscience found that some medical professionals are facing discrimination due to their beliefs about issues like abortion.

Upholding the right to conscientious objection is vital for protecting diversity in medical professions and is supported by a majority of the public.

Please contact your MP and ask them to show their support by signing Early Day Motion 861 on the Conscientious Objection (Medical Activities) Bill.

Remember to explain why this matters to you and include your address so they know you are a constituent.
