Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN)

Caritas Social Action Network (CSAN) is the official agency of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales for domestic social action.

Mission

Caritas Social Action Network shares in the mission of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. It animates and co-ordinates the network of social action charities and dioceses, working in collaboration to help poor, vulnerable and marginalised people find their voice and to enable them to improve their lives.

CSAN’s Work

Caritas Social Action Network:

• Develops the network of those working in Catholic social action;
• Advances the education, training, practice and formation of those active in the field;
• Offers a coherent Catholic voice in the public arena.

Community Sponsorship Scheme

The Community Sponsorship Scheme offers a way for local groups – including parish groups – to assist refugees fleeing war and violence to integrate safely into our local communities.

Caritas Social Action Network is a national member of the Caritas Internationalis confederation, within the Caritas Europa group. Caritas Social Action Network is registered in England & Wales as a charity (number 1101431) and a company limited by guarantee and not having a share capital (number 4505111).  Network members are independent  organisations with their own trustees and governance.
