The eagerly-anticipated official Papal Visit DVD has been released.

Celebrating Pope Benedict XVI’s historic first State Visit to the UK, the DVD tells the story of the four extraordinary days in September offering not just event highlights, but the Holy Father’s profound words and the true significance of all the components of the Visit.

Speaking at the launch, Archbishop Vincent Nichols, who narrates the DVD alongside Cardinal Keith O’Brien of St Andrews and Edinburgh and Lord Patten of Barnes, said: “The aims of the Visit can be summarised with the words that Pope Benedict used in his homily at Westminster Cathedral: ‘How much we need, in the Church and in society, witnesses of the beauty of holiness, witnesses of the splendour of truth, witnesses of the joy and freedom born of a living relationship with Christ.’ This is what people witnessed in September and I would like to thank everyone who helped bring this message of hope and joy to people everywhere.”

The DVD is being distributed by the Universe Media Group and will be available online, in parishes and in Catholic bookshops.
