Job Vacancy: Discipleship Promotor, National Office of Vocation (NOV)

The National Office of Vocation is looking for someone with energy, knowledge and commitment to make a unique contribution to communicate the joy of the Gospel and support ongoing formation of young people to create and sustain a culture of vocation within the Catholic Church in England and Wales.  

Working with the Director of the National Office of Vocation within the Catholic Bishops Conference, 39 Eccleston Square, London SW1V 1BX, a short walk from Victoria Station in Central London, the successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting ongoing formation of young people.

You will feel confident communicating the joy of the Gospel to a diverse range of individuals and groups across England and Wales. Supported by well-developed IT skills, the successful candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm for working in a busy office environment with a positive can-do attitude and an ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Key responsibilities

  • To create and sustain a culture within Catholic schools, higher education and parish communities, which actively encourages and supports vocational discernment;
  • To provide coordination and support to ministry in partnership with diocesan youth ministries;
  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the gift of the Christian calling in the context of the lived experience of men and women of faith;
  • To be able to communicate the theology, practical challenges and gifts offered by responding to the call to the various vocations within the Catholic context;
  • To build and sustain effective relationships with vocation leads in dioceses, university chaplaincy teams and parish ministries to promote Christian discipleship;
  • To provide a sensitive and informed response to telephone/email and social media enquiries;

Salary: Competitive, subject to experience
