Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family

The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Family was formed originally as the Apostolic Exarchate for Ukrainian Catholics of the Byzantine rite.

The Exarchate was erected on the 10 June 1957 for the faithful of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in England and Wales, but on the 12 May 1968, the Exarchate’s remit was expanded to the whole of Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland).

The UCC was elevated to eparchial status – equivalent to diocesan status in the Latin Church – on the 18 January 2013.

The faithful in the Eparchy number approximately 13,500. There are currently 16 priests serving 15 parishes and 20 mission points.

The current Eparch is Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski. He was appointed bishop of the Eparchy of the Holy Family of London for Ukrainian Greek-Catholics in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 15 January 2020.
