Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar

The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar (SECAM) was born out of the Second Vatican Council after the African bishops resolved to build a continental structure in order to bring forth the African vision to the whole Church. The mission of SECAM is "to promote its role as a sign and instrument of salvation and to build the Church as a Family of God in Africa", to preserve and foster communion, collaboration and joint action among all the Episcopal Conferences of Africa and the Islands.
