National Board of Catholic Women

The Board consisists of representatives of national Catholic organisations with diocesan links appointed by the local bishop. It serves as a forum for Catholic women to exchange views and concerns about the status of women in the Church and in the world, and make recommendations. It has consultative status with the United Nations (ECOSOC); is a member of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organisations and the European Alliance of Catholic Women in Europe.  Through its representation on these and other national ecumenical and interfaith groups, the NBCW is able to put forward the issues of concern to Catholic women.
