It is an exciting time to join the Archdiocese of Birmingham, as they recruit for two new full time posts to help spread the Joy of the Gospel and communicate both within the church and externally in our local communities.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham (Charity No. 234216) extends from Stoke in the North to the Thames in the South. It includes 7 cities and 5 Counties; an area with over 5 million people. It serves a Catholic population of some 450,000 through a network of 224 parishes and some 240 schools.

Head of Communications & Community Engagement

Salary: £34,000 to £40,000 p.a.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Head of Communications & Community Engagement will set and guide the Archdiocese’s strategy for all communications, websites and community engagement. With the Press & Media Relations Officer the Head of Communications & Community Engagement will be responsible for managing and delivering communications, including providing professional advice, expertise and leadership on all aspects of communication (internal and external), seeking opportunities to promote the mission of the Catholic church, the Archdiocese and its related charities and to enhance its reputation. 

Press & Media Relations Officer

Salary: £27,000 to £31,000 p.a.

Reporting to the Head of Communications & Community Engagement, the Press & Media Relations Officer will on a day-to day basis be responsible for external communications for the Archdiocese providing support to senior members of the Clergy, its Parishes, Schools and Academies.
